The 2-year, full-time Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is focused on developing highly specialized knowledge and acquiring the critical skills and intuition necessary to create and execute significant project/activity outcomes with appropriately selected research methodologies in research or industry. Our goal is to deliver the best Master’s program in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in the MENA region, one that is competitive with top Master’s programs in the US and Europe, and to produce a pipeline of graduates that will place equally into top PhD programs and critical positions in industry or government, thus supporting pathways to careers in the UAE in particular. Our graduate students will contribute significantly to the intellectual life of NYU Abu Dhabi, assist faculty in producing world-class research aligned with the UAE’s strategic goals, and help mentor and advise undergraduates interested in research or industry roles in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. This is a 2-year full-time Master of Science program consisting of 12 three-credit courses, made up of five foundation courses taken by all students, and five advanced elective courses, taken over 4 semesters, plus a research-intensive capstone course sequence that concludes during the final semester. Since Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence are vast fields, students have a substantial amount of choice in their electives. In consultation with their mentor and Graduate Program Head, each student will form a course plan that will lead them to focus, informally, on a specific field of interest culminating in a capstone research thesis. Below, we list examples of subfields of specialization that could be elaborated based on the course offerings and faculty expertise. You must have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree before the program registration starts. The degree must be from an accredited institution. Official transcripts certifying conferral of a bachelor’s degree are required before the student can start the program.
