This course teaches students how to use Excel for database management and statistical analysis. Students can watch class lectures on zoom so the lectures can be paused and rewound as students learn Excel steps. Students are encouraged to attend the recording of the live sessions during scheduled class times. Weekly Excel assignments are required and can be completed collaboratively. Students also take four midterm exams involving Excel-based tasks. There is no textbook, but a laptop is required. Students must compile an Excel notebook in which the assignments are presented and in which each step in Excel is listed that was used to complete the assignment. This course counts as an elective for SASN Economics majors and certain Rutgers Business School programs.
